Two teens injured in Fuerteventura after crashing their scooters

On the evening of June 13, 2024, at approximately 21:38, a serious accident occurred on Nuestra Señora del Carmen Street in the municipality of Pájara, Fuerteventura, as two young people were injured when their scooters collided. The incident prompted an immediate response from local emergency services.

A 14-year-old girl and an 18-year-old boy were the victims of the collision. The girl sustained a moderate traumatic brain injury. She received initial medical assistance at the scene and was subsequently transported by a Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) ambulance to the Pájara Health Center for further treatment. The boy also suffered a moderate traumatic brain injury and was similarly assisted and transported by the SUC ambulance to the same health center.

The incident was reported to the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Canary Islands Government, which dispatched the necessary emergency resources. The response team included a basic life support ambulance from the SUC and officers from the Civil Guard. Upon arrival, SUC personnel assessed the condition of both injured individuals and provided the required medical attention before transferring them to the healthcare facility.

Following the medical response, the Civil Guard conducted the requisite investigation to document the accident. The authorities are expected to continue their investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the collision between the two scooters.
