In the early hours of June 16, 2024, at approximately 02:13, an accident occurred on the FV-1 highway near Corralejo in the municipality of La Oliva.
Two 19-year-old men were injured when their vehicle overturned, prompting a swift response from local emergency services.
The Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) provided initial assessments and reported that both men sustained moderate injuries. They were transported by basic life support ambulances to the General Hospital of Fuerteventura for further medical treatment.
The Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Canary Islands Government received the alert and immediately dispatched the necessary emergency resources. These included a basic life support ambulance from SUC, the Civil Guard, and the Fire and Rescue Service of La Oliva.
Upon arrival, SUC personnel attended to the two injured individuals, who were found outside the overturned vehicle. After providing initial medical assistance, both were taken to the hospital. Meanwhile, the Civil Guard conducted the requisite investigation and documented the incident.
