La Palma update: The volcano cone broke on the southwest side

It was just announced that the volcano cone currently erupting on the island of La Palma has broken on the southwest part and there is now a larger quantity of lava flowing towards the sea.

The authorities are still insisting that tha this is a typical eruption for the Canary Islands and that people should remain calm and should follow the regular announcements. 

According to IGME (Geological and Mining Institute of Spain), which is closely monitoring the volcanic activity by using drones, due to the rupture in the cone, the is now a large lava stream that is heading towards the sea.  

Also today, the authorities announced that a new eruptive mouth opened up, following the other ones that appeared on Friday.
