The Minister of Ecological Transition, Fight against Climate Change and Territorial Planning of the Government of the Canary Islands, José Antonio Valbuena, has visited the facilities of the Timanfaya National Park together with its director, Pascual Gil, and the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, with the aim of seeing its current status and reviewing the main actions planned for this year, which will amount to 2,253,919.41 euros.

The four wind turbines from Arrecife Wind Farm begin to produce energy in Lanzarote

The Cabildo de Lanzarote has launched the four wind turbines that make up the Arrecife Wind Farm, powered by the Consortium Insular de Aguas de Lanzarote. With a hub height of 85 meters and a rotor diameter of 71 meters, up to a height of 120 meters with the blades, these new mills will have the capacity to produce about 27,150-megawatt hours per year and the estimated operation will be 2,951 annual equivalent hours.

The Government of the Canary Islands has announced that Lanzarote and La Graciosa will move up to Alert Level 4 from the Level 3 they're currently at, due to the continued growth in the number of cases, in the hopes that they will be able to bend the contagion curve. These measures also apply to La Graciosa, which has a similar epidemiological situation to Lanzarote. On the other hand, El Hierro goes from level 1 to level 2 starting from 00:00 this Friday, tomorrow.
