A 56-year-old woman died on Friday from injuries sustained after falling in a mountainous area in Femés, in the municipality of Yaiza (Lanzarote), according to the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2.
The incident occurred shortly after 2:30 p.m., when the 1-1-2 operational room received an alert requesting assistance for a woman who had fallen in a mountainous area. Cecoes immediately activated the necessary emergency resources.
Responders from the Lanzarote Safety, Emergency, Rescue, Prevention, and Fire Extinguishing Consortium, a medicalized ambulance, a basic life support ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), the Civil Guard, and local police were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters reached the woman, who was in a difficult-to-access area, and found her in cardiac arrest. They began resuscitation efforts immediately. SUC personnel confirmed she was still in cardiac arrest and continued both basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation without success, ultimately confirming her death. The Civil Guard conducted the necessary legal procedures.
