A 71-year-old woman tragically passed away on Wednesday at Las Teresitas beach in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, according to the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (Cecoes) 112 Canarias.

At 11:30 a.m., a distress call was made reporting that lifeguards had pulled a woman in cardiac arrest from the water.

Despite immediate resuscitation efforts by the rescue team, the situation remained critical. Medical professionals from the San Andrés Local Clinic and the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) arrived promptly and continued advanced resuscitation techniques. Unfortunately, these efforts were unsuccessful, and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Local Police assisted the emergency services, facilitating the transfer of medical personnel from the Local Clinic to the beach.
