
A 56-year-old woman was taken to hospital in critical condition after suffering a cardiac arrest while bathing at Playa del Bobo in the municipality of Adeje, according to emergency services.
The Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 112 received an alert reporting that a swimmer had been pulled from the water after heading toward a rocky area and going into cardiac arrest.
Beach lifeguards immediately began basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) until medical teams from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) arrived. Paramedics continued advanced resuscitation procedures, successfully restoring the woman’s pulse and stabilising her at the scene.
She was found to have sustained a head injury and was transported by a medicalised ambulance in serious condition to Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria.
Emergency resources deployed included a medicalised ambulance, a basic life support ambulance, beach rescue personnel, and Local Police officers, who assisted at the scene.
Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances leading to the incident.
