Yellow alert activated in the Canary Islands due to high temperatures

Aemet has activated the yellow alert due to high temperatures, marking the start of several days of intense heat in the Canary Islands.

The alert will be in place this Friday between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm on the island of Gran Canaria, where maximum temperatures of 36ºC are expected, 
affecting the southeast coast, midlands, especially those facing south, and especially the areas located at high altitudes.

Also on Friday, temperatures will reach 32ºC in inland areas in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Tenerife and 36ºC in the southern half of Gran Canaria.

Moderate north to northeast wind, with strong intervals on southeast and northwest slopes.
