Yellow alert for heavy rains in Tenerife and La Palma

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has announced that it has activated a yellow warning alert for heavy rains on the islands of Tenerife and La Palma.

The alert will begin on Thursday, November 25, at 9 am and it ends at midnight on the same day.

The yellow warning alert will be active for the following areas in the Canary Islands:

  • East of La Palma - accumulated precipitation in 12 hours: 60 mm. Mainly affecting the eastern slope of the island
  • Tenerife metropolitan area - accumulated precipitation in 12 hours: 60 mm.
  • East, South and West of Tenerife - Accumulated precipitation in 12 hours: 60 mm. Mainly affecting the eastern part of the island

According to AEMET's forecast, the rest of the islands in the Canary Islands archipelago will probably also experience rain, but at the moment they are not placed under the yellow warning alert for heavy rains.
