An unusually warm episode for this time of the year will bring maximum temperatures between 25 and 30ºC this week in many areas of Spain.
This episode will cause very high temperatures for this time of year that coincides with the so-called "San Martín summer", an abnormally warm period in the middle of autumn, that happens around November 11, when the said festival is celebrated, explained Rubén del Campo, spokesperson for the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
Over the next few days the maximum and minimum temperatures between "5 and 10ºC above normal", Del Campo clarified.
In the Canary Islands, as of this Monday, light haze is expected at high altitudes, that will enter throughout the day, while the maximum temperatures could reach 30ºC, as well as slightly cloudy or clear skies.
Regarding the state of the sea, there will be northeasterly winds with force 4 or 5 on most of the Canary Islands coasts, with rough seas or swells that could increase to strong swells on several islands.
