On Wednesday, May 8, a man's body was discovered on the shore of Playa Juncal , situated in the municipality of Gáldar, Gran Canaria.
A pair of tourists, strolling in the vicinity, spotted the body floating face down in the sea and promptly notified the authorities.
At approximately 1:25 p.m., emergency services were mobilized, including Gáldar Local Police, the Civil Guard, the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC), and the Gáldar branch of the Gran Canaria Fire Department.
Upon arrival, responders retrieved the body, which was found in cardiac arrest, and medical personnel pronounced the individual deceased.
The deceased is a male estimated to be between 35 and 40 years old; however, both his identity and the cause of death remain unknown at this time.
The Civil Guard has initiated an investigation regarding the circumstances surrounding this incident.
