During March, airports in the Canary Islands welcomed a total of 4,952,941 passengers, marking a 14.4% increase compared to March 2023, as reported by Aena.
Of the total passengers, 4,921,071 traveled on commercial flights, with 1,761,157 on domestic routes (with an increase of 11.8% compared to March a2023) and 3,159,914 on international routes (an increase of 17.5% compared to March of last year).
Additionally, 42,667 flight operations were recorded, reflecting an 11% increase over March 2023, along with the transportation of 2,694 tons of goods.
Leading the passenger numbers in March was Gran Canaria Airport with 1,479,738 passengers (a 14.7% increase from March 2023), followed by Tenerife South Airport with 1,346,732 passengers (up by 16.2% from 2023). The rest of the airports also experienced notable increases in passenger traffic.
Year-to-date, Canary Islands airports have served 13,651,816 travelers, showing a 12.2% rise compared to the same period last year, with significant growth in both domestic and international flights.
