As it was previously announced, today, April 19, is the reunion where it will officially be established that masks will stop being mandatory in indoor spaces in Spain.
The Council of Ministers is going to approve a Royal Decree by which the use of masks will no longer be mandatory indoors. This means that the rule will go into effect from the following day, Wednesday, April 20, when it will be published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
Masks will remain mandatory in Spain in a few places and cases:
Masks will continue to be recommended (but not mandatory) in closed spaces like supermarkets, shopping malls, cinemas, theaters, concert halls and museums and other closed spaces where proper ventilation is not possible at all times.
