The Ministry of Health announced this Friday that the Government of the Canary Islands has decreed a red notice due to high temperatures in several municipalities located in the summit and southeast areas of the island of Gran Canaria.
Temperatures of up to 34ºC in the south of Gran Canaria are expected over the course of the following days.
In the municipalities of Agüimes and Tejeda, the red alert for high temperatures will be in place from July 31 to August 1, while in Mogán, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Santa Lucía de Tirajana and Tejeda, the red alert will be in place on July 30 and 31, as well as on August 1.
Santa Brígida, Valsequillo and Vega San Mateo in Gran Canaria will be under yellow alert on August 2nd and 3rd, while in Tenerife, the municipalities of Arona, Fasnia, Granadilla de Abona, Güímar and San Miguel de Abona will be under alert on August 2nd and 3rd, and Candelaria only on August 2.
