The Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands announced that today, March 27th, they received an alert informing that a person had fallen into the sea at around 10:25 a.m.
Rescuers from the GES helicopter went to the scene and rescued two people who had fallen into the sea in the area of Los Gigantes (Santiago del Teide municipality in Tenerife) and transferred them to the helipad of the Adeje volunteer firefighters.
Once on the ground, the SUC health personnel verified that one man was in cardiorespiratory arrest, so they began cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers without being able to reverse the situation, confirming his death. The other rescued person did not require to be transferred to the hospital.
Adeje volunteer firefighters collaborated with the preparation of the helisurface for landing.
