New rescue equipment to improve beach safety in La Oliva, Fuerteventura
La Oliva City Council reinforces its commitment to beach safety by acquiring a new water rescue vehicle. This measure aims to improve rescue operations at sea and guarantee the safety of visitors and residents who enjoy the beaches of the municipality.
The aquatic rescue vehicle, produced by SEABOB RESCUE, offers versatility and efficiency in dangerous situations, and its implementation has been carried out after a training course provided by the company that supplied the equipment. The course, which took place in Grandes Playas, Corralejo, allowed lifeguards to learn about the various possibilities offered by this equipment in rescue scenarios.
The mayor of the La Oliva City Council, Isaí Blanco, highlighted the importance of strengthening the beach surveillance service due to the considerable influx of people that the municipality receives annually. "Strengthening this service will contribute to increasing our quality as a safe tourist destination, making it possible for both our local population and our visitors to enjoy our idyllic beaches," said the Mayor.
With these measures, the La Oliva City Council seeks to raise safety standards on its beaches and consolidate its position as a safe and welcoming tourist destination for all its visitors.
About the water rescue vehicle
The SEABOB RESCUE, propelled by an electrical and ecological system, can be launched by one person without technical aid and allows the rescuer to quickly move towards the rescue area. Its lateral anchorage system facilitates the attachment of accessories and towing equipment, allowing the rescuer to maneuver effectively. Its key features include the ability to perform rescues in deep areas and safely transport unconscious people.
