A new frontline restaurant called "La Chirina" recently opened its doors on the recently renovated beach in Arguineguin, in the municipality of Mogan, on the island of Gran Canaria.
The restaurant consists of a prefabricated module of 50 square meters with a bar, kitchen and toilet. Also, there's a large terrace of 190 square meters, with a part covered with pergolas.
The opening of the new restaurant took place on July 20 on El Perchel beach. The Mogán City Council, which holds the concession, has granted the exploitation to the FABACOR XIII SL group through an ordinary public contract until January 30, 2028, which may be extended for another six years. The Consistory will receive an annual sum of over 96,000 euros.
The mayor of Mogán, Onalia Bueno, participated in the opening ceremony together with the administrator Edey Báez and his partner Armando Juárez. The meeting was also attended by the Councilor for Beaches, Willy García, and several councilors from the local government.
The 50-square-meter prefabricated module was built as part of the El Perchel beach renovation project. This project was financed by the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce with an investment of 1,469,268 euros, and 389,926.72 euros from the Mogán City Council.
In the remodeling of this area, various actions were carried out such as rehabilitating the sandbank and the natural pool; providing a promenade with solar streetlights and almost entirely with pergolas; creating a playground and a lifeguard module with toilets; and building a restaurant module with a total area of 240 square meters consisting of a bar, kitchen, toilets and covered terrace.
"This module adds value to our destination and to El Perchel beach," said Bueno, who wished the managers of the winning entity "all the luck in the world." "It is about attracting customers of all kinds and that Mogán continues, as it has been up to now, a destination for enjoying the beach and local gastronomy," she pointed out, while also announcing that "the Playa del Cura restaurant module is in delay due to permits, but work is underway and we hope that it can be inaugurated as early as autumn”.
The establishment, called 'La Chirina', offers anyone who visits Arguineguín a modern and well-kept space in a unique enclave next to the natural pool on the beach.
For his part, the administrator Edey Báez has indicated that they are happy with the opening of the new business that is committed to a service according to the environment. "We offer a Mediterranean meal, rice, fresh fish, squid or salads because we think it is ideal for people who come to enjoy the sun and the beach" he highlighted.
The opening hours for the new restaurant "La Chirina" on Playa del Perchel in Arguineguin are: from Monday to Sunday from 12:00 to 23:00.
