Possible calima from Tuesday, affecting mostly Lanzarote and Fuerteventura

According to Aemet, it is probable that Saharian dust will enter the archipelago starting tomorrow, Tuesday, October 18, affecting mostly the easternmost islands, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, but it could also affect Gran Canaria as well.

From Wednesday on the calima could also reach the islands of Tenerife and La Gomera.

Tuesday forecast - October 18

Cloudy intervals until noon, with some occasional rain in high areas of the central islands. Little cloudy or clear in the afternoon.

Probable calima in the eastern islands, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. Temperatures in general rise, especially in interior areas. Light to moderate wind coming from the north, while around the central peaks of Tenerife strong southwest wind with very strong gusts is expected in the morning.

Wednesday forecast - October 19

Cloudy weather with some cloudy intervals in the north of the mountainous islands, and intervals of high clouds in the afternoon.

Probable calima in the eastern islands, lighter in the afternoon. Minimum temperature will be rising slightly in the western islands while remaining the same in the rest of the archipelago. Light to moderate northeast wind and moderate wind in the summits of the mountainous islands.
