Fiestas de Nuestra Señora del Carmen 2023: July 31st - August 13th

The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz presented today the program of the festivities in honor of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, which will take place from July 31 to August 13, lasting for two weeks with events organized for the diversity and fun of residents and visitors.

The festivities will include a diverse array for the entire family. The Plaza del Varadero in Puerto del Carmen will host more than 65 events aimed at all ages and categories.

There will be two inclusive days, on July 31 and August 7, with low light intensity and food stands without music, as was done in previous celebrations. These days are organized in a special way for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other neurological conditions, so visitors are also asked to minimize sound and visual impacts.

On weekends, the 4th, 5th, 11th and 12th, the Punto Violeta will be activated once again, a post for information and awareness about the safety of women that is installed at large events such as concerts and open-air festivals. The objective is to protect and provide support in cases where a woman may feel harassed, pressured, or the victim of any type of aggression.

In addition to sports, music, children's workshops and the traditional Festival of People's Artists, the program stands out for the reading of the proclamation on Thursday, August 3, by Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Santana, from the Puerto del Carmen handball club.

On Saturday, August 12, at 6:00 p.m., the Maritime Procession of the Virgen del Carmen will be celebrated with the groups Los Buches and Los Tity Roys. The concert by Antonio José with Raúl Maro as the opening act has been scheduled for 9:00 p.m. and later the popular festival will be celebrated.

The last day of the festivities will be Sunday, August 13, with the solajero festival, concert, sung mass and procession by land, final of the Canarian ball championship and performance by Los Sabandeños, all before the fireworks and dancing.
