In 2024, the International Kite Festival in Fuerteventura will celebrate its 37th edition since it first launched in 1987. The event started more than 30 years ago and it was simply a gathering put together by people who were passionate about kite flying and since then it has grown with each edition, into the internationally recognized event that it is now.
Hundreds of kites will fill the sky of the municipality of La Oliva for yet another year from November 11th to the 17th during the 37th edition of the International Kite Festival.
For seven days, professional and amateur kitesurfers from all over the world will meet on the golden beaches of the Corralejo Dunes, at Bajo Negro Beach (Hotel Oliva Beach area), on the 37th Anniversary of this festival that, thanks to the power of the trade winds, will fill the skies of Corralejo with color fantasies, redrawing it with shapes and drawings that will delight participants and visitors.
Although the previous editions usually took place on El Dormidero Beach for most of the days of the event, last year the festival moved to the vicinity of the Oliva Beach hotel, on the sands of Bajo Negro Beach. The proximity of this space to an urban area allows the facilitation of services, generating the minimum environmental impact.
Professional and amateur kite enthusiasts coming from all corners of Spain, as well as from all over Europe and from various foreign countries will participate at Corralejo Kite Festival.
Corralejo Kite Festival is an international festival that already has a base of loyal fans and the event has gained enough international recognition to be considered among the most acclaimed kite festivals of its type in the world.
