Gran Canaria Cabildo announced that they will be taking measures to manage the impact of excessive tourism on Roque Nublo.

Access to the iconic site will be limited to 50-60 visitors per hour, with plans to close the nearest roadside parking and introduce a shuttle service from designated "park and ride" facilities.

These changes, set to be implemented in the near future, aim to alleviate the strain caused by uncontrolled visitor numbers. The visitor cap is temporary until a comprehensive study on Roque Nublo's carrying capacity is completed.

The shuttle service, operated by Global, will run from Cruz de Tejeda, stopping at various points including Tejeda town and a location near Roque Nublo. Although pricing details are pending, buses will operate hourly, initially using two vehicles with 40 seats each and a third on standby, with a transition to hybrid buses by 2025.

Parking arrangements include repurposing existing lots and creating new ones, with added signage along the shuttle route and personnel managing access to Roque Nublo. Priority will be given to shuttle users, but hikers will still have access to the landmark.
