High heat alert in Gran Canaria and showers in some of the other Canaries
The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has activated an alert due to high temperatures in several municipalities on the island of Gran Canaria: Mogán, Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Agüimes, Ingenio, San Bartolomé de Tirajana and La Aldea de San Nicolás.

- Temperatures will exceed 34 ºC in certain areas in the south and west of Gran Canaria.
- Probability of storms, as well as possible locally strong showers on some of the mountainous islands.
The day will start with cloudy skies with a predominance of medium and high cloudiness, while at the end of the day the sky will clear up especially in the easternmost islands of the archipelago.
There a probability of occasional rainfall on the mountainous islands, which could also be accompanied by storms, that could be locally strong.
Low probability of an occasional shower in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura during the first half of the day.
Temperatures will exceed 34 ºC in the midlands of the south and west of Gran Canaria. The wind will come from the northeast with strong intervals on the southeast and northwest coast. In midlands and summits, east-southeast wind.
