Cabildo de Lanzarote has granted approval for a new hotel to be built in the southern region of Lanzarote, featuring 342 accommodation units and 684 beds.

Despite being granted by the Government Council, the authorization for this "project and provisional classification for a five-star hotel" had not been previously disclosed. This decision paves the way for Explotaciones e Inversiones Timanfaya company to obtain the construction license, subject to approval from the Yaiza City Council.

The site designated for the construction of the new hotel sits approximately 400 meters from the Marina Rubicón port and adjoins Papagayo Avenue. This same avenue is now the location of the newly built massive 1,440-bed hotel, by the Domínguez Brothers, which is regarded as the largest in Lanzarote.

Spanning an area of 41,906 square meters, the new proposed hotel project will encompass 25,373 square meters of construction. The majority of this plot falls within the Costas influence zone, a designated strip extending 500 meters from the shoreline.
