The Government of the Canary Islands has announced today changes in the opening hours of nightlife venues, for those places that decide to request and check Covid certificates from clients.
This means that the premises that wish to apply this rule can close at 4:00 a.m. on islands at levels 1 and 2, and at 3:00 a.m. on the islands that are at Level 3.
The modification will come into effect from 00:00 this Saturday, after publication in the BOC, and until October 31, 2021, so, for now, it will be applied to all the islands, as none of them are currently at level 4.
The Deputy Minister of the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands, Antonio Olivera, announced this afternoon that nightlife venues may extend their hours from the 00.00 hours this Saturday (September 18) and until 00.00 hours on October 31 of this year.
This means that clubs, bars and karaoke bars that wish to take advantage of this voluntary extension must prove that their workers and clients have a valid Covid certificate meaning one of the following:
Given that there has been a clear improvement in the main indicators that make up the traffic light system, the Government has decided that nightlife venues that wish to do so, under their responsibility for control, can close at 4:00 a.m. on levels 1 and 2. Until now, they could stay open until 3.00 at level 1 and at 2.00 at level 2.
Likewise, the islands that are at level 3 may have their venues open until 3:00 a.m. (before it was 1:00 a.m.), provided that the requirement of having a COVID vaccination certificate is fulfilled.
