Sad day today in Fuerteventura, as two people have lost their lives while at the beach in Jandia, in the southern part of the island.
At 2:00 pm this afternoon, a 50-year-old man died at the health center in Morro Jable, after being rescued from the water in cardiorespiratory arrest on a beach in Jandia.
At around 3 p.m. today, a 70-year-old woman was recued from the water in Costa Calma, in cardiorespiratory arrest, but she sadly passed away despite the resuscitation maneuvers.
Note: Drowning quickly causes respiratory and cardiac arrest from hypoxemia (low blood oxygen).
