Good news for residents or people interested to visit the beautiful island of Lanzarote! The world's longest seafront promenade will open in Lanzarote, surpassing the one in La Coruña. The promenade in La Coruña measures 13 km and holds the present record of thge longest promenade in the world, with the promenade in Atlantic City (New Jersey, USA) being 2nd place, at 9,25 km.

La Palma is part of the Canary Islands and although they are situated very close to the coast of Africa, the islands are politically part of Spain. The island of La Palma is really small, with an area of 706 km2, which makes it the 5th largest island of all 7 in the archipelago.

It looks like 2016 brings more interesting in Christmas events in the Canary Islands, as tourism grows and the local authorities are looking to offer more entertainment.

The city of San Cristobal de La Laguna in Tenerife will host in 2016 it's first Christmas Market. The event will coincide this week with the celebration of 17 years since the city of La Laguna was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. Several documentaries will be shown to the public in Doctor Olivera Square, starting at 19:30 and 21:30 on Friday 9 December 2016 and Saturday 10 December 2016.

According to the local authorities, the new road between Caldereta and Corralejo will be open for use starting 29 December 2016. The road will be only partially ready, with 13 km out of the total 18 km ...

The Castle Route in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is a guided tour happening on the first Saturday of each month, organized by Museos de Tenerife. The tour consists of visits to several edifices of cultural interest in the capital of Tenerife: first San Juan Castle, followed by the Casa de la Polvora (Gunpowder House).

The Department for Tourism has announced a new event for June, organized in Costa Teguise - Lanzarote.

Like the rest of Spain, Tenerife celebrates the Eve of St. John the Baptist on the night of June 23rd with big bonfires all over the island. This is a festival of pagan origin and it is usually associated with the summer solstice.
